According to AS, the Catalans club, Barcelona FC are in need of strengthing in depth at right-back and the Croatian defender, Darijo Srna is named as the man for this place. Sergi Roberto needs some cover and Aleix Vidal is not the player to provide it.
The 34-year-old Srna, who has been at Shakhtar Donetsk since 2008-09, will be a cheap option for Barca since the Croat will be available on a free transfer which fits the Catalans side as they lack the winter budget. Srna and Barca technical secretary Robert Fernandez have maintained contact from before and the Shakhtar captain was looking to play in bigger club before ending his career and has wanted to leave Ukraine for some time. The Catalans club aim to make a deal for Srna in the next few weeks.
