Arsenal face a Herculean task as they look to claim their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger’s side were out-gunned in the first leg of their round of 16 tie with German giants Bayern Munich, soundly beaten 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium. Now the Gunners need to do the same in Munich.

Now they face a Bayern side that have only lost only nine times in 82 Champions League matches at home.

But Arsene Wenger is insistent, that his side aren’t out of it yet:
“It’s not impossible. But the only way to make it possible is of course to, to play, have a real go and to play at our best tomorrow night, and that’s what we will try, that’s what we will do. I am confident that…. we will be completely focused and up for it and we will give our best shot, then football is football, you know. Everything is possible.”

Lukas Podolski scored Arsenal’s goal in the first leg, but the former Bayern striker will miss the second leg through injury.

Midfield dynamo Jack Wilshere is also out after failing to recover from an ankle knock picked up in the North London derby match against Tottenham Hotspur, a little over a week ago.

Defender Thomas Vermalen Vermaelen believes that Arsenal could overturn the deficit though, using last year’s round of 16 tie with AC Milan as an example of the side’s positive attitude:
“Yes, of course, we go into this game to…. to win and get through. We’ve seen it last, last year as well against Milan. We almost did what most people thought was impossible and we almost went through, so I think a lot of players know that and they, and they all believe that we can do it tomorrow.”

If Arsenal are eliminated, England won’t have a single representative in the last eight of the Champions League for the first time since the 1995-96 season.

Bayern Munich probable lineup :
M. Neuer
P. Lahm • D. Van Buyten • Dante • D. Alaba
Javi Martínez • Luiz Gustavo
T. Müller • T. Kroos • X. Shaqiri

Arsenal probable lineup :
W. Szczęsny
C. Jenkinson • L. Koscielny • P. Mertesacker • T. Vermaelen

Match Prediction : Arsenal needs to score at least 3 goals to reach some chances for the next stage. The home team this year doesnt have a single defeat, and surely they will go for a win here also. All this means over 2,5 goals,or even over 3,5 goals.
