9. David De Gea

In ninth spot is the shot-stopping Spaniard David De Gea. His form in goals has lead to Manchester United’s solid 3rd position on the ladder. United have only let in 20 goals in 20 games this season, the least amount of goals conceded behind Chelsea and Manchester City. This stat is largely down to De Gea, who has made a number of important saves over the season, in some cases, winning matches for United. An excellent example of his versatility and reactions was when United faced Everton, where De Gea made three stunning stops, first to deny Leighton Baines’ penalty, then to win a one-on-one duel with Leon Osman, and finally to parry a powerful Bryan Oviedo attempt over the crossbar. He may not have the most clean sheets in the league, but he certainly has saved United on many occasions and is possibly the reason they are so high in the table.
