The Spanish club , Athletic Bilbao is interested in signing Arsenal midfielder , Mikel Arteta. Arteta is considered as perfect Ander Herrera’s replacement.
After Ander Herrera transfer to Manchester United for a transfer fee of £29m, Athletic Bilbao is looking to find a good replacement for him. Arsenal midfielder , Mikel Arteta is expected to fill up the void that Herrera departure created to Bilbao midfield.
Arteta got only 12 months left on his deal at Arsenal , so Bilbao is expected to make £3m for his services.
The Spanish poor form at last season made Arsene Wenger to look for another midfielder , and Arsenal has been lately linked with Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.
Arteta joined Arsenal at summer 2011 after a 6 years spell at Everton.
He has played 94 matches for Arsenal , scoring only 14 goals. He won his first trophy with Arsenal only this season, in May 2010 where they beat Hull City in the FA Cup final.
