Reaction from Claudio Ranieri after the leaders Leicester City won 2-0 at Sunderland in the English Premier League on Sunday (10th April).

laudio Ranieri, Leicester City manager (about Jamie Vardy):

“I’m very, very happy because in the last weeks he didn’t score, but he made a very great assist to his team-mates and the team-mates score a goal. But at half time I talked to him ‘come on Jamie we need you, I need you’ I told him and he scored, twice.”

(Q: Can you allow yourself to start getting excited now?):
“Ah, it’s difficult to tell what I feel inside. I’m happy because we got three points in a difficult match. We knew to play, in this moment, against Sunderland was very, very difficult because in the last five matches they made a very fantastic performance. They won also against Manchester United if I remember well. And then (to) get three points is important.”

Claudio Ranieri, Leicester City manager (about being close to a place in the Champions League):
“This is an amazing season for us, for our fans, for our chairman, for me, for everybody because our goal was be safe. And that is okay. The next I said arrive in the Europa League and it’s done. Now we have the Champions League very close to us. Come on. Keep going.”
