Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini and Aston Villa boss Remi Garde reflect on their 0-0 draw in the Premier League on Sunday.

Manuel Pellegrini, Manchester City manager (on being pleased with the performance)

“I am disappointed with the result, but I don’t have anything to complain about to our team because I think that we played very well for the 90 minutes, they didn’t have one shot on our goal. It’s not easy when you try to attack and you have 60 metres behind you. We were very unlucky with three or four clear chances that we had. Wilfried Bony injury at the beginning of the game was the problem as well. That was important in our kind of game. We tried with different ways to score a goal and sometimes these things happen in football and we couldn’t score.”

Remi Garde, Aston Villa manager
“Yes, I mean a clean sheet against such a good team, such good players all over the field means that we should be a little bit more confident next time. We have been a bit lucky, of course, because they touched the bar, we didn’t create so many chances. I know that but it was City. City were full of confidence. They had a brilliant, brilliant game against FC Sevilla which is quite a good team as well so today I think it’s a good point to work on.”
