The latest 3 derbies have finished with a draw, so now both managers Brendan Rodgers and Everton boss Roberto Martinez will try to take their first Merseyside win.

LIVERPOOL

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said on Monday (27th January) that home advantage would play an important part in Tuesday’s English Premier League (EPL) game against cross-city rivals Everton.

As for Liverpool , they in the last five rounds were even on the leading position of the Premiership , but then Reds suffered two away defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea , after which both teams surpassed Liverpool together with the current first placed team, Arsenal.

After that, Reds enrolled two win, against Hull City at home and on tour at Stoke City. The last Premier league match at Anfield against Aston Villa ended with a 2-2 draw, which increased the gap behind the leading Arsenal to 8 points.

The last weekend Liverpool celebrated over Bournemouth 2-0 victory ( FA Cup) , which certainly can increase moral in the team. With Luis Suarez who netted 22 goals so far, Liverpool is the second team on the list of teams which scored the most.

As regards the first team recovered midfielder Allen and striker Sturridge are back, while still out of action are injured Johnson, Sakho, Agger and Jose Enrique and midfielder Lucas.

EVERTON

Roberto Martinez believes Tuesday’s Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool is even more significant than normal due to the close proximity of the clubs in the Premier League. Everton are sixth, one point behind fourth placed Liverpool.

When it comes to Everton , it can be said, they are playing this season very good and their supporters rightly can hope that after a long time the Toffees can secure and the placement in the Champions League .

Martinez’s men are currently on the brilliant sixth place and have only one point less than the fourth Reds, but here we should mention the fact that Everton has only two defeats in the league. One of them was at home against Sunderland, which was a quite surprising, but after that Everton celebrated at home against Southampton and Norwich and drew away at Stoke and West Brom, while in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a high 4:0 they celebrated against Stevenage.

Recovered defender Coleman and midfielder Pienaar are back and available to Martinez, while on the bench the new signed player on a loan, striker Traore will wait for his chance. On the other hand, because of injuries , still out of action are midfielders Oviedo, Barkley and Gibson as well as the forwards Deulofeu and Kone.
