The English giants have announced the signing of Marko Grujic for £5.1 million from the Serbian side , Red Star Beograd. The player have signed a 5-year deal with the Reds.

The 19 years old, who have won the U20 World Cup with Serbia is the first signing for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, but the Serbian midfielder will not be under Klopp’s orders until the end of the season since he will remain at Red Star Beograd on a 6 months loan deal.

Grujic had completed his medical on Merseyside on Sunday and also firmed the contract that will keep him at Liverpool for the next 5 seasons.

The 19-year-old has attracted the interest of many European sides after having an impressive performance at U20 World Cup at New Zeland with his nation Serbia. Grujic performances has helped his nation to reach the finals and beat Brazil U20 2-1.

Red Star Beograd has received many offers from European clubs, some of them are : Anderlecht (€2m),Stuttgart (€5m) and Internazionale but they’ve been refused. The Serbian side will win £5.1 million also a 10 percent sell-on clause.

Probably Grujic will not be the only move Jurgen Klopp is making this transfer market. The Reds are suffering very much from the injuries as currently they’ve got no available centre backs, only 1 available forward plus Henderson and Coutinho are sidelined.

Klopp has already mentioned that he will make signing in January, and Schalke defender Joel Matip is linked with a possible move to Anfield Road as he’s refusing to renew his contract with the German side.The Reds are also interested on signing a striker, and Klopp wants to reunite with his former player Pierre Erick Aubameyang for £42 millions from Borussia Dortmund.
