Luis Suarez has been praised by Barcelona staff and their new signing Ivan Rakitic for his act of apology to Chiellini after biting him at World Cup match.
Barca new signing and sporting director admitted their admiration for Liverpool striker , Luis Suarez after he released a public apology for biting the Italian defender , Giorgio Chiellini. To cut the high price for Liverpool striker, apparently Barcelona has put a clause which forbids Suarez to bite anyone and the Catalan club started the bid with the much lower price than Livepool have for his striker, due to World Cup incident.
Luis Suarez released a public apology on Monday at his twitter account for the biting incident that happened in the last match of Group Stages where Uguruay won 1-0. He has been banned by FIFA from all football-related activity until October 26.
Besides the ban , the Uruguayan has been lately linked with a possible transfer to the Catalan club this summer.
Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta praised the act , the character from Suarez afer he did publish that apology.
“I think we know about the circumstances that happened in the World Cup and he’s had the character and humility to first recognise that he made a mistake,” said Zubizarreta.
“I think that’s very important. He had the honour to come out and apologise to the people who had been hurt by his actions; the opposition and also football in general in the middle of a world football festival.
“Now it’s time for him to begin his recovery process. I think Luis Suarez did the best thing as a person and I also think as a footballer. What path he now takes, whether he stays at Liverpool or goes somewhere else, we will see.”
Suarez was also banned for 9 games from International football activity.
