Juventus, AC Milan, Monaco, Wolfsburg, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham… No!. Atletico Madrid’s striker is set to sign for the English giant! English tabloid No. 1, The Sun delivers the news on its front page as ‘exclusive’.
Manchester United ‘close in on £36m Mario Mandzukic transfer’ writes the tabloid, which is not a relevant choice, but is the most selling newspaper in England.
Sun claims that the Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic, currently is the first wish of Man Utd’s boss Louis Van Gaal. These days there was a rumour about Napoli’s striker Hiquain who’s looking for a move out from Stadio San Paolo since Napoli did not secure the Champions league place, linking the striker with Man Utd but also with many other teams.
Mandzukic was linked a few times with the Italian champions, Juventus, whose supporter he is, Wolfsburg deal allegedly fallen, AC Milan appeared in combinations considering a fresh “capital” from Asia.
Mandzukic is a proven goalscorer since his era in Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid. Last season the Croatian striker scored 20 goals in 37 games for Atletico and he’se valued at £36million
Considering that the news brings The Sun, this should be taken as 50-50, but what’s certain is that Diego Simeone is looking for another striker, while Mario Mandzukic wants to leave. If there is any interested indeed from the Red Devils, Mario Mandzukic most likely will accept it.
