The Juventus midfielder, Andrea Pirlo has admitted that he is thinking to retire from international career with Italy after this World Cup at Brazil.

Andrea Pirlo made his debut with Italy 12 years ago. He’s been a member of the national team since 2002 and won World Cup 2006 at Germany and also reached EURO 2012 final.

“I’m still thinking of retiring after this World Cup, as I have reached a certain age and it is only right to leave the pitch to the generation coming through,” Pirlo told reporters.

“It would be pointless to continue. If I am needed, then there’s no problem in coming back. If I come on international duty and don’t play, then I’d get angry. It is perhaps better I stay home.”

Since 2002 , Andrea Pirlo made 109 appearances with his national team , scoring in total only 13 goals.

Italy will face England this Sunday at Arena Amazônia.
